home air purifier

An air purifier is a device which removes contaminants from the air. There are several kinds of air purifiers. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation or UVGI makes use of UV lamps where the air is forced to pass; a good filtration system then removes the dead micro-organisms. Other models use filter-based purification traps. It simply forces the air through a filter that captures the particles. HEPA filters could screen out particles as small as 0.01 microns. And then there are air purifiers that use activated carbon to absorb volatile chemicals. These types do not remove larger particles.

Because of the different technologies used in a home air purifier there is a wide range of difference in their prices. It is important to study the efficacy of each of the different technologies used to filter air contaminants. Once you are comfortable with how they work, you can decide on which one will fit your need. Other factors should be taken into account. The size of the room where it will be used is crucial for it to work efficiently. Also, look into the maintenance cost of each model. There are parts that need to be replaced such as filters, for example. Ask about how frequently they should be replaced and the cost if the replacement.
