Since I am not growing any younger, I would need to face the music and be able to prepare for m eventual death. Morbid as it sounds, I am only a practical person who would want to make sure that the loved ones I get to leave behind will no longer have to worry about anything. After all I have lived a full life and they have taken care of me.

I asked some of my friends to refer me to some of the people they may know who are handling elderly planning. This way I can start on preparing for what is to come and be able to make sure that all my properties and investments will be arranged prior to my passing. This can ensure that each and every single one of my children would be able to have something of their own once I pass on.

My mother has long been suffering from osteoarthritis and I feel for her because of the pain she constantly feels. She would usually have those days when she is not able to do anything at all, and would be confined in her room for the entire day. This is something which happens to be a cause of concern for me as I would need to make sure that she is very much comfortable and problem free given her age.

I did my research on potential products which can help my mother with my problem. I also consulted her doctor and she was more than willing to give me sound advice on potential medications to reduce the pain she feels. I got this product with chondroitin sulfate known to help with the problem. Hopefully I can help my mother to lessen what she feels and be able to go on with living a normal life.

I keep a number of small pots around my property as well as my terrace in order to bring in life and soft elements in my place. I would usually have to water them when I come home from work to make sure that they do not wilt and die out on me. In order to water these plants I would usually need to make use of a pail and plastic cup in order for me not to overwater the small pots. This can be very messy and wasteful though.

My friend recommended that I use a twist and spout for watering my small potted plants. She uses the same thing and works perfectly. Now all I need to do is use empty soda bottles and single handedly water the plants I have without any hassles. This not only allows me to save on water, I also don’t have to carry a heavy pail with me every time. How convenient can that be?

When we take care of our elderly, there may be instances when they would want to be left alone and feel more independent when going about their day to day tasks. There are those who absolutely hate the idea of having to be too dependent to another person. They would want to feel that they are still able to do their usual routines without the help of other people. This is usually the denial phase that the aged group normally deals with.

To get them the ability to do their tasks without that much dependence from others, a lightweight walker works best for these people. This is an ideal walker especially for those indoor activities we would normally do. From going around various parts of the house or walking inside the mall or the supermarket, the tight spaces will not be a problem. This is the indoor independence the elderly will surely welcome.

My father lives with me and my family in the suburbs. I refuse to take him to a home where he would be taken care of by strangers. Having to grow up without a mother, I simply could not abandon my father during this difficult stage in his life. After all, he never thought of giving me up when he had quite a handful of responsibility left for him to handle alone. I owe it to myself to take care of him personally.

This was not a problem as I am a full time mother. I would take it upon myself to take care of my father and help him eat, bathe and exercise. This allows me to give back to the person who has always been there for me. For his incontinence problems, I got him some incontinence briefs so I can easily change him up without any problems. I would need to always be around for my father, but I am not complaining.

My parents live with me in my home. Since I am a single mom, it allowed me to take my parents in and personally look after them. This I have to manage together with the fact that I need to run my online business. Dealing with elderly parents can sometimes be frustrating, but one needs to understand that these individuals are now stricken with old age and would need all the help they can get. I am thankful that I have wonderful kids who help me out at home and with my parents.

Living together is so much fun; it was just like the old days but only with more members in the house. There may be difficult times as my father is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, but on good days we are all able to laugh and enjoy ourselves as a family. I am showing my kids how important it is to take care of the family and prioritize them above all. Having my parents around assures me that I have all the support and love I need in this world.

That’s why he now needs assistance in things he does. The problem is that I work most of the time and he gets left alone at the house. I just make sure that I prepare his meals and that everything he needs are at his reach. I even bought a toilet seat riser to make his life easier. Now, he can go to the restroom and use the toilet bowl by himself.

When our parents or grandparents live with us at home, it is always important to take good care of them and exert much effort to ensure that they are well at all times. Our families are important to us. Growing up, these people are the pillars of our strength and have supported us until we were able to stand up on our own. This is why at their age now it is also important that we give back all the love and care they have showered us with when we were little.

We would want to get them out of the house to enjoy every once in a while. It is always a great thing to get them breathe some fresh air and have some new surroundings every once in a while. For these moments, it is always handy to have a walker with chair around. This way our parents can have the aid they need to go around and can easily sit down once they have grown quite tired after a full day of activities. This is a great investment which would help show your loved ones how much you truly care.

Depend is a brand of unisex adult underwear for people who are suffering from urinary or fecal incontinence manufactured by Kimberly-Clark. Depend diapers are available in different styles and designs such as the Depend Adjustable Underwear. This incontinence product is designed for quick and discreet changing without having to remove the pants and shoes at home or even on the go. This style features perforated sides that neatly tear open with four pre-fastened tabs that can be adjusted for a snug, customized fit.

This diaper type can be worn two ways: It can be pulled on like regular underwear straight out of the package or can be opened using the perforations at the hip seams and then fastened with the tabs for a more conventional fit. Depend diapers use a thin, absorbent pad made of super-absorbent polymers that draws wetness in and away from the skin, helping to lock in urine and odors while helping to keep the skin dry. All Depend products are latex free and contains no lotions or fragrances.

A visiting nurse provides care for patients in the comfort of their own homes or at assisted living facilities. The nurse typically makes several rounds a day, visiting different clients to perform routine evaluations, administer aid if needed, and check in with caregivers. Most visiting nurses are employed by visiting nurse home care service companies, home health care agencies, and nonprofit community organizations, although some work for hospitals and government assistance agencies.

The exact duties of a visiting nurse will vary depending on his or her employer as well as the types of patients seen. A visiting nurse will frequently discuss with caregivers to determine how well patients are doing and if they think that additional care is necessary. When evaluating a patient, a visiting nurse will check vital signs, dress wounds or bed sores, change catheters, and perform other medical services as needed. Visits are carefully documented to keep track of progress and medication regimens.
