There are many ways by which you can improve your posture through exercise. The usual running and aerobic exercises may be good for your lungs but it will not improve your posture. It is important to choose the right exercise for your posture. Not only will a wrong choice of exercise do nothing to help; it can actually aggravate problems with your back.

If you are in front of the computer a large part of the time, you are probably slouched in your chair with your arms hanging from the keyboard and your neck stretched out towards the screen. anti-aging fitness

July 22nd, 2009

When we think of an anti-aging plan we think in terms of how it can achieve firm muscles, delay wrinkling and keep a trim figure. An anti-aging fitness plan should be this, and more. It is more than a plan to look young. It should be a plan that will improve the physical as well as mental faculties. It should also emphasize a lifestyle geared towards basic day to day management methods.

Most fitness plans will focus on strengthening the muscles and cardio exercises. A program geared towards anti-aging should center on increasing muscle mass, reducing fat, building endurance, flexibility and balance. As people age the body becomes susceptible to certain diseases. The aim of anti aging exercises should be to prepare the body for loss in bone density, lung capacity and muscular strength.

meditation benches

July 22nd, 2009

Since I started taking yoga classes three months ago, I have noticed that yoga works best if I am able to meditate more often. I have been advised by my yoga instructor to practice my yoga poses at home and outdoors and to practice meditating each time. My instructor also suggested I look into meditation benches which I can buy so it would be easier for me to meditate wherever I am. I immediately sent out to look for a meditation bench. I wanted it to be sturdy and comfortable yet handy and portable.

I saw that there were several meditation benches available. There were benches that were foldable, some with cushion, some straight and simple and other curved. They all serve one purpose; to help you be more comfortable so you can do your meditation better. I got one for myself and tried it for a week, it was very comfortable. Meditation benches are a great alternative to the yoga mat.
