snore pillow

I pity my wife. I come from a family of snorers. Not only do I snore, I snore quite loudly. I can really belt it out when I snore. It may sound funny but snoring is no joke. Snoring can be a symptom of heart disease especially when you reach middle age. To cure my snoring, my wife got me a snore pillow.

It sounds logical. People snore because they don’t get much air into their bodies. Your tongue slides down your throat and it blocks the airway. Certain pillows will keep the airways open. That’s how a snore pillow works. Other hi tech pillows have an audio sensor that will vibrate when you snore. This will make the snorer shift his position and cut the snoring short.

snore relief

There are so many suggestions for snore relief and yet we don’t know of one that works for the majority. Some products being offered to stop snoring include the pillow that makes the sleeper lie on his side. This keeps the mouth closed which apparently will keep him from snoring. There is also the snore ball that is placed in a pouch on his back. When the user rolls over in his sleep, the snore ball will wake him up. The idea is to keep the snorer from lying on his back and sleep with an open mouth.

Is snore relief possible at all? Is there hope in nasal strips and throat sprays? These devices can help some people depending on the cause of their snoring. If they don’t work, they can always go back to doctors’ advice about diet and exercise. Eating a light dinner and keeping fit may just be the thing to relieve snoring.

Sleep is very important. Lack of sleep can cause depression, paranoia and even death. Common sleeping problems include insomnia, sleep apnea and restless legs or arms. Sleep disorders will affect the quality of your life. They can make you cranky at the very least and demented at the worst.

To correct sleeping problems we must make our bedrooms clean and tidy. You must condition your body to sleep at a certain time. To train your body, first, don’t use your bed except for sleeping. Only go to bed when you are about to sleep. Soon every time you go to your bed you’ll feel sleepy.

We have a nightly concerto in our house. I come from a family of snorers. Snoring happens when there’s a block in the breathing passages. That’s why it’s a sign of concern for people with heart disease. To solve this, I bought a snore no more pillow.

A snore no more pillow does help. It reduced my snoring significantly. It works by using memory foam. It supports and lifts your neck when you sleep. By lifting your neck it opens up the passages ways and reduces obstructions to your airway.

Memory foam pillows

September 3rd, 2009

Pillow fights are hilarious and fun. Aside from being used as a weapon in a game, pillows do offer other benefits. On top of the list of course is that pillows serves as our main sleeping aid in achieving a well deserve rest. Using a special pillow can give an added comfort. Memory foam pillows for instance are specifically designed to support the neck and the head. They are typically made of ultrahigh-density, viscoelastic memory foam. This material adjusts to the body temperature and gently conforms to the shape of the body. It is therefore easy to side-sleep and help ease sleep apnea.

Memory foam pillows have two types according to their shape:

~Neck pillows/ cervical contour pillows – valley-shape design. This has a double-curve feature and designed to cradle neck and head and properly supports the spine.
~Traditional shapes – contour to head and neck for proper support.

contour pillow

August 11th, 2009

There are plenty of pillows in the market. Aside from the usual pillow that you buy in the stores there are neck pillows, body pillows, hotdog pillows etc…There are even pillows for pregnant women. These pregnancy pillows are meant to cushion a woman’s belly. There is also a contour pillow which bends or “deflates” according the weight being put on it.

A contour pillow can be used for sleeping, for resting and for relaxing. It helps align the spine while you sleep. There are also special contour pillows such as pregnancy pillows that help support the belly which may be heavy especially during the last trimester. Since pregnant women are advised to sleep on their left side, a contour pillow provides cushion for the woman’s side and belly. They work on the same principle as the head pillow.

People who travel a lot for a living have taken comfort to a whole new level. You can always spot the business travelers, the frequent travelers and the seasoned travelers; they are the ones who rarely look stressed and tired after a long flight or road trip. Their secret is simple; they rarely take long trips without their travel pillows. Travel pillows are small padded head supports usually made of firm cushion. This allows you to support your neck while resting your head on a seat’s head rest.

Travel pillows are a must for seasoned travelers. Sometimes, they are all that’s needed to get you to rest and sleep comfortably while on the road. The 2 most common travel pillows are the small rectangular ones similar to the ones given by the airlines, and the u-shaped neck pillows. The u- shaped neck pillow is by far the most common of all travel pillows. Its purpose is to support the neck and provide a ready head rest anytime anywhere.

memory foam pillow

I have not yet tried this latest trend in bedding accessories but I confess that I had been dreaming of doing just that this last few months. If the memory foam pillow were not that expensive, I probably would have a few already waiting for me at night. From what I gather, it is made of material that responds to changes in temperature. As the foam comes in contact with an increase in temperature, the foam realigns to provide a cushion, by softening at the points where the body increases the temperature of the foam. A memory pillow will mold itself to the contours of the head and neck providing support where it is needed.

Where before these pillows were only available through specialty stores and TV shopping sites, now they are obtainable from stores that sell mattresses and even from bedding sections of department stores. Those who have reviewed the product compliment their extremely supportive qualities which make them a better option for people with back or neck problems. It is also believed that they are more resistant to dust mites than regular foam. They are claimed to be hypoallergenic and anti-microbial as well. However, they tend to retain body heat and could be warmer to the body than natural cotton or down pillows.
