drinking water system

June 30th, 2009

Two years ago I decided to open up a water refilling station in our community. After doing my research, the drinking water system I plan to put up will produce mineral water. The water system I used came from a German conglomerate that produces mineral water using a membrane. It is the same system used during the great tsunami calamity in Southeast Asian. It produces cheap mineral water using a simple machine without the need for electricity.

I opened my store with very little fanfare. Since I can produce the cheapest water in the market, I spent a lot on making good brochures and going after bulk orders. My drinking water system is clean, reliable, healthy, and safe. I didn’t go for the residential market, but concentrated on getting distributors and commercial clients instead. Six months later I became a major player in the water business in our area.

morning sickness remedies

June 29th, 2009

I have had three pregnancies and each one was different from the other. On my first pregnancy, I had no morning sickness but was on bed rest for about three months, I was not allowed to exercise and I had to take several medicines all throughout. My second and third pregnancies were not as difficult as the first but I had morning sickness on the first trimester. As a general rule, pregnant women are not allowed to take a whole lot of medicines since they could prove harmful to the fetus. I had to resort to natural morning sickness remedies.

During first three months of my pregnancy, I stayed away from warm and congested area, took short lunch break naps and avoided perfumes with strong scents. I also had to avoid spicy, greasy and sour foods. The biggest hurdle for me was having to cut down on sweets and coffee! My friends also suggested the following morning sickness remedies: ~taking my prenatals in the afternoon so that they are not “wasted” when I have morning sickness. ~ginger herbal tablets (this was much better than taking ginger or ginger tea like some of them did) and ~iron supplements which unfortunately contributed to my constipation.

energy supplement

June 26th, 2009

I’ve been a tri-athlete for more than ten years now and I’m presently training for the half ironman. I work out six days a week, sometimes twice a day. I wake up as early as 5:30am to either run, bike or swim. But since I’m not as young anymore I find it hard to run for more than two hours or bike for more than three hours. That’s why I’m taking an energy supplement.

The energy supplement I’m taking now is really good. I usually fade in hour two of the bike session. I get tired and tend to slow down. Now, I can bike 4 hours as long as I continue to take it. I’m also not as tired after. I’m hoping this time I’ll do better. I really want to break 5 hour 30 minutes in the half ironman.

nutrition information

June 24th, 2009

I became more vigilant in educating my daughters about health and nutrition when I learned the alarming hike of obesity cases among children and teens. Since most children are not yet conscious about their body and physical image, it is a natural tendency for children to overeat. Over indulgence to ice cream, chips, sodas, and fast food meals likely happen. With both our family sides have the tendency to get big, my spouse and I always remind our children to eat in moderation.

Aside from avoiding fatty food and sticking to vegetables and fruits, I also encourage my children to read nutrition information in food labels and packaging. I told them to stay away from foods rich in monosodium glutamate, cholesterol, as well to snacks that contains too much sugar and salt. It is to start on them really young since long term effects of obesity can be harmful to them both physically and emotionally.

l-tyrosine

June 24th, 2009

Sometimes I wonder if I need more supplements to keep me healthy. I take way too much coffee, sweets and alcohol. I can’t imagine not having my coffee every morning and after lunch. I also need to say “no” more often when being offered dessert. I went to the health store by chance yesterday and the staff gave me some supplement which contained l-tyrosine. I haven’t heard about it before so I had to ask her for some more information.

I learned that l-tyrosine can help my body by replenishing the damage done by too much caffeine, sweets and alcohol. I thought it was some cleansing thing for a while there. But I read further on that this helps to enhance memory, calms anxiety and can give more energy. So I decided to give it a try. I figured I could try it for a month and see what happens.
