This is a topic shunned by many. Nobody wants to talk about preparing for death when one is young and healthy. Preparing for old age, maybe; but not death. So, when a family member dies unexpectedly, members of the family scramble about not knowing what to do. These days, things are easier with funeral directors guiding the bereaved. But take a look nevertheless at what a well-meaning netizen posted in the internet. He calls it a ‘Checklist after Death’.

- If your loved one was a veteran, call this number
- Obtain 10-15 copies of the Death Certificate from your funeral director.
- Contact the Health Insurance Company or employer to terminate coverage.
- Contact insurance company
- Return credit cards together with a certified copy of death
- Make arrangements with the bank regarding joint accounts
