Caregiver for the Elders
August 18th, 2010
Don’t let busy schedule hinder you from taking care of an old loved one. Even if you don’t have the time, you can still show grandma and grandpa you love them by hiring a caregiver for them. There are lots of caregiver resources available for you to choose from. From these resources, you can decide which one can give the best care to your elders.
Getting a caregiver to attend to your elders is like hiring yourself to personally take care of a loved one. A caregiver’s duties include:
- Conduct personal grooming like hair fixing, nail-cutting and oral care
- Assistance in shower, sponge bath and personal hygiene
- Support when the elder needs to transfer from bed to wheelchair and vice versa
- Assistance when going to the toilet and incontinent care
- Boost the patient’ morale through inspirational and uplifting activities
