pedometer

The rationale behind the 10,000 steps daily exercise figure is that this is the approximate number of steps taken by an adult human when walking briskly for 30 minutes at a pace of 4 km/h. It means two kilometers of walking and where will that take you? It will be equivalent to so many numbers of laps in an oval or several blocks around where you live.
There is an easier way to complete your 10,000 steps. In the gym climb up a treadmill and let the pedometer count your steps. The pedometer is also called a step counter because that is what it does. It counts each step that a person takes by detecting the motion of the hips. That is the reason why pedometers are usually worn on the belt.
