magnetic recumbent bike

October 7th, 2009

Stationary bikes are a fun way to exercise in the comfort of home. They are affordable and can burn up as much as 250 calories in 30 minutes. This is a favorite exerciser because it allows the person a great cardio workout while watching his favorite TV program. There are two kinds of stationary bikes. There is the upright bike and there is the recumbent bike.

The magnetic recumbent bike is preferred by some because the design allows for easy mounting and dismounting. The semi reclined position allows the person to focus on the major muscles in the hips, thighs and buttocks more comfortably. Others prefer the upright bike because they can include more muscle groups in their exercise routine. Recumbent bikes are more back friendly; upright bikes may not be as comfortable but they are more versatile.
