pedometers

November 9th, 2009

More and more people are getting overweight. To battle this problem, people are exercising. One of the best exercise program and activity is walking. It is cheap, stresses the body minimally and will build your endurance. To add some pep in your workout, try using pedometers.

Pedometers are step counters. It counts every step you make. Most doctors will recommend you take 10,000 steps a day to be fit. Ideally, you wear it the moment you wake up and go do your routine. Go to work, go to lunch, do your groceries, whatever. At the end of the work day, check how many steps you took and subtract it from 10,000. The balance is how many steps you need to exercise. For example, your whole day might take you 7,000 to 8,000 steps so all you need to do is walk 2,000 to 3,000 steps. That’s about 20 to 25 minutes depending on your cadence.
