Senior exercises

Exercise is basically good for all ages. They keep a healthy mind and body. Senior exercises are designed to address the specific needs or requirements of aging individuals. They are typically less strenuous than regular exercises that the younger ones are engaged too. They have been proven to help delay or even prevent many diseases like dementia.

There are four types of senior exercises:

~Strength exercises – increase metabolism and develop adult muscles
~Balance exercises – help in preventing falls; will help to keep the individual unassisted or independent
~Stretching exercises – promote freedom of movement and improves endurance and strength
~Endurance exercises – increases heart rate and breathing for extended period of time; swimming, walking, biking and jogging
