March 15th, 2010

Aside from a healthy diet, physical activity is another important part of a successful diabetes management plan. When you do diabetes exercise, your muscles will use sugar for energy. And doing this regularly will improve your body’s response to insulin. This will help lower your blood sugar level.

Start your diabetes exercise plan by:~Getting clearance from your doctor that it’s okay to exercise~Adjusting your treatment plans as needed like if you take insulin, you may have to adjust your does before exercising or wait a few hours to exercise after taking insulin~Making good judgments by checking your blood sugar level before, during and after exercise and drinking a lot of fluids while you work out.
