Garlic and Honey can Remedy Cough

April 19th, 2010

We make fun of some remedies that our mothers recommend for simple illnesses that bug us every once in a while. Garlic and honey for cough, potassium alum for body odor, and butter for minor burns. It seems weird taking or using these products on our bodies but they have been proven to be natural health remedies. Apparently, these have been proven to work since the olden times. They should be able to work on us as well.

Prepare garlic and honey cough remedy by muddling one clove of garlic with one tablespoon of honey. Stir in one tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice. Consume. The combination of garlic and acidic vinegar or lemon juice really opens up sinus passages and, along with the honey, breaks up phlegm. Garlic and honey also has antiseptic properties and can be expected to give immediate relief.
