February 9th, 2010

Prevention is still better than the cure. So if you have a family history of hypertension, you should do everything to keep your blood pressure within normal levels. It may not be easy but you should have enough discipline and conviction to prevent hypertension. Aside from genetics, this condition can also be acquired when you engage in poor diet.

There are several ways to prevent hypertension. One of the most important strategies is to stay away from oily, fatty and salty food. Stress is also one contributing factor so you should be able to manage it very well. Engage in activities that will relieve your stress and take time out to relax. Exercise is generally good and will particularly help in burning excess fats that can raise your blood pressure.
