Beyond Your Wildest Dreams
When I was growing up, I loved watching and reading SCI FI movies and books. I would dream about living in the future. I’m not alone. Many children and adults have the same dream. Guess what? A lot of the stuff we read when we’re kids are already here in the now. Space ships, lasers and even living forever or close to it are here or if not we’re already knocking on those doors. The door to everlasting life, many people believe, is in stem cell research.
Stems cells are the building blocks of the body. They can be used to transform into any organ. You need an extra ear? You can create one with stem cells. Have a defective heart? Replace it without your body rejecting it. There will no longer be any need for donor organ cards. No donors will be needed because your own stem cells will create the parts you need. That in essence is what stem cell research is all about.
