toilet seat reducer

July 21st, 2009

When a baby becomes a toddler, a whole new chapter begins. As a new mom, I am now faced with the challenge of when and how to toilet train my one year old. Unlike some babies and toddlers, I can’t really tell if Sam (my one-year-old) is in the process of doing “number 1″ or “number 2″. Despite all the noises, sounds and words that come out of his mouth, he has yet to learn to say “pee” and “poo”. I have however already prepared our house for this forthcoming milestone. I asked around and looked for the best potty trainer until I discovered the toilet seat reducer.

A toilet seat reducer is unlike most potty trainers which is simply a chair with a “pot” underneath. A toilet seat reducer is placed on top of the toilet seat. Its inner diameter is smaller in size so that the baby or toddler’s bottom fits perfectly. The baby or toddler therefore can do his or her business on top of an actual toilet where mommy can simply flush the contents. Some toilet seat reducers are cushioned; some are shaped and contorted to fit the child’s legs. When the time comes for the child to do his or business, all you have to do is to place him or her on top of the toilet seat reducer and wait.
