The Basics of Skin Care

The basic steps of skin care have been drummed up on us. As soon as children stepped on to teen hood and then to adulthood, they became attentive to anything relating to better looking skin. They listened to advertisements claiming good qualities of this or that product. They try every skin product they can find. The search seems to be unending.

The basic steps in skin care are cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing and regular use of sunscreen. A creamy cleanser should be used for dry skin and a clear cleanser for oily skin. Exfoliation is the process of removing the top layer of the skin. That is dead skin that tends to dull the complexion. A skin moisturizer will seal moisture into the skin. It is best applied after a bath when the skin is still wet. Sunscreen helps to retard skin aging.

Water born diseases are some of the greatest killers in the world. Water born diseases have killed millions of people around the world. What’s regrettable is water born diseases can be prevented. All you need is clean water. That’s why water purifiers are so common today.

Water purifiers are as simple as filtering water too changing the composition of water itself. I’ve heard of one system that calls itself 03. They claim that their water has more oxygen. I don’t know about that. Even filtering of water comes in different forms. The result of this filter form different brands of water: mineral, purified and distilled.

If muscle pain happens to an elderly person we are quick to say that he is suffering from arthritis pain. Arthritis refers to an inflammation in a person’s musculoskeletal system. There are different forms of arthritis, the most common of which is osteoarthritis. OA is common in the elderly but is can also affect people at an early age. It is characterized by stiffness of joints. The areas commonly affected are the hips, hands, knees and spine.

It is important to provide arthritis pain relief when treating this disease. There are topical pain medications that can be applied to relieve pain. These medications can offer temporary relief but they are just useful in providing symptomatic relief. They do not really help to remove the reason for the pain. Other forms of medication such as pills and patches can also provide relief. Doctors will advise on the proper foods to eat and daily exercises to avoid recurrence of arthritis pain.

People don’t like to talk about it. People are embarrassed just thinking about it. The colon is very important to us. Neglect it and it will come back to bite your ass. The benefits of colon cleansing are weight loss, increase energy and great skin. That’s what every adult aspire for.

If everybody knows the benefits of colon cleansing we’ll do it all the time. Ideally it should be cleansed about four times a year. This will vary depending how healthy your lifestyle is. An unhealthy person will need more and a healthy one less. What I’m harping at here is that everyone, I mean everyone (healthy and unhealthy) should get your colon cleansed.

Getting Old Is Not Fun

Last week I woke up to a stiff neck that immobilized me the entire day. The week before that, I had lower back problems. The sad part of the back problem is I don’t know what caused it. It sucks to be old. My friend suggested I buy a therapeutic memory foam pillow. She said it can help. It did.

A therapeutic memory foam pillow is a little expensive but worth it. I woke up the first time I used it feeling refreshed and energetic. Neither did I have a stiff neck nor back pains. My wife even said I snored less. I hope it lasts. It sure feels good to wake without any aches and pains. I feel young again.

The Risk of Taking Health Supplements

Dietary supplements are being offered that promise to improve a person’s health or correct abnormalities. The question is, are these supplements really effective? Are they even safe to use? These supplements range from natural herbs that treat various health conditions as well as promote general well-being. Others are synthetic chemicals that purport to do the same.

Without doctor’s advice, these supplements only confuse consumers. Now, we are hearing about supposed stem cell enhancers. These supplements claim to improve health by allowing the body to renew itself naturally. Stem cells circulate and function to replace dysfunctional cells, thus fulfilling the natural process of maintaining optimal health. These are new products in the market. Take care if you are enticed to try them.

Change Hairstyles With Ease

Many wig wearers prefer lace fronts as these give the illusion of a seamless hairline. These types of wigs have a small piece of lace mesh attached to the front and which is attached to a wearer’s head using double sided tape or glue. For an even more realistic look, some have lace front wigs custom made. Here, human hair is painstakingly and individually pulled through the lace.

But for those on a limited budget, there are also discount lace front wigs available from online stores. What’s great about lace front wigs is the versatility. You can change your hairstyle easily and make it look natural because it’s hard to see where the lace starts or ends. Just make sure that you glue or tape it down securely so it looks like your own hairline.

A Visit to the Salon

My sister loves her hair. She never fails to visit the salon every two months to have

something done to her hair, whether it’s a hot oil treatment or a hair reborn or whatever you call it. One time I went with her because she asked me to, and I was almost fascinated with all the scissors and brushes and interesting contraptions they attached to her locks. I remember wondering if a girl’s hair was made of something else that required so much care and attention.

I also remember the look in her eyes when her hairdresser brought out a brush with a long handle and a cable called a Hot Brush curling iron, which I found out much later. My sister and the hairdresser started discussing curling iron tips and techniques which I tuned out, mainly because my mind was in overdrive. Her birthday is coming up and I’ve been having a hard time choosing a gift, and that curling iron gave me an idea. Now I just need to keep her from buying one.
