treating oily skin

September 24th, 2009

Having oily skin is not that bad. This is the type of skin that is not too much prone to fine lines and wrinkles. So you look younger and keeping the moisture in the skin reduces aging. However, if treating oily skin is not given attention now, this may later on result to unhealthy skin due to blackheads, clogged pores and build up of dead cells. It would also cause the pores to appear larger.

In treating oily skin, these steps should be taken:

~Get rid of the culprit (sebum) by cleansing it but not removing its moisture
~Use mild astringent daily to remove excess oils
~Appropriate diets – low-fat; avoid sugar, animal and dairy fats, fried or processed food
~Drink lots of water (6-8 glasses) everyday
~Adequate vitamin/ mineral intake (Vitamin A, B-6 and lecithin)
