Natural soap
October 1st, 2009
There are natural soaps and there are commercial soaps. Natural soap is made from the chemical reaction of lye, water and oil. While lye is critical in the manufacture of natural soap it is completely removed during the manufacturing process. The different types of oil you can use are almost infinite, as each type of oil has its own properties and will make the soap be slightly different from other soaps. This is what makes homemade soaps unique.
Commercial soaps are made from petroleum or gasoline. They can cause irritation of the skin and other problems. Regular soap also tends to dry out the skin. So which would you rather use? Natural soap that is good for your skin; or regular soap that can make your skin feel tight, itchy and flaky?
