Methods of Sunless Tanning

Sunless tanning is just another way of getting the suntanned look. It may have advantages over lazing in the sun for hours but it is not an entirely risk-free procedure. Let us take a look at the methods currently being used. There are tanning lotions that are very popular and effective

Most sunless tanning lotions have dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as their active ingredient. The DHA is a colorless sugar that interacts with the dead cells located in your epidermis to give you a bronzed look. You’ll get a color changed within 5-7 days. The same chemicals are also applied using a spray. An airbrush tanning system provides streak free results and will dry in minutes. Others take tanning pills or avail of tanning bed services. Tanning tablets are not recommended by many professionals. Tanning beds may still increase the risk of skin cancer. The safest methods of skin tanning seem to be a sunless skin tanning product or a bronzer. The other option is to forego getting a skin tan altogether.

Airbrush Tanning

Have you heard of airbrushing? It is a process of spraying inks and dyes. Used in art and other forms of media, airbrush is also done on the skin. Compared to using brushes, airbrushing has a finer and smoother effect. And since it coats the surface smoothly, it has been used for artificial skin tanning.

Airbrush tanning provides a silky effect on skin. And it looks really natural. You don’t have to spend days under the sun to get a perfect and even color. With an airbrush tanning equipment, you will get the most believable skin color you will look like you’ve spent days in a tropical island. And because exposure to UV rays can be dangerous and damaging, airbrush tanning is a safe way to get a natural glow.
