Tips on How to Quiet Tinnitus

Tinnitus can be very annoying. The constant ringing in my ears is enough to keep me awake all night and make me cranky in the morning. Sometimes I wish I had an off switch somewhere to make it stop. I didn’t really know what causes that annoying sound in my ear, but after visiting my EENT, I found a way to quiet tinnitus.

First, I had my ears cleaned. Apparently, using ear buds to clean ears can push the earwax deep into the ear. The hardened wax can very well be the cause of the ringing. Then, he had me listen to soothing music that can drown out the ringing. Also, he prescribed some medication that can help me relax before going to bed. My tinnitus is still there, but at least it doesn’t bother me anymore when I’m trying to get some sleep.

Do you suffer from tinnitus? If you do, then you would surely agree that the condition is pretty annoying. Hearing a ringing sound inside your head that won’t seem to end can affect your mood in a bad way. It makes you irritable.

But there are no direct medicines for the treatment of tinnitus. To provide relief from tinnitus, some drugs like antidepressants may be given to reduce the severity of the symptoms. What doctors normally do is they treat the underlying cause of the tinnitus. If a patient has ear wax, it is also removed. Doctors also recommend listening to sounds that could suppress the sound.

Think Twice Before Blasting Your Eardrums

I was born in the 70s and I spent my teen years in the decadent 80s. I was in my early years when the portable music and headphones were all the rage. I would spend hours listening to loud music on my head phones since my mother always yelled at me for playing loud music in the house. Today, at 39 I sometimes go to bed with ringing in my ears. It’s probably a result from blasting my eardrums with headphones and going to all those rock concerts. I’ve been diagnosed with tinnitus; it’s nothing serious I’ve been told. I am now on the lookout for natural tinnitus remedies.

I have discovered that there are several natural tinnitus remedies. One of them involves the use of Gingko Biloba. I have heard about this before but I had no idea that this alternative remedy for depression and dizziness could help my ears. I have also to cut down on salt and fat. The good news is that I can eat more garlic. Garlicky foods are cool, I didn’t realize they could help my ears as well.
