tea infusers

March 6th, 2009

Tea can nowadays be bought in convenient little packs anywhere, but my father preferred to have his cup the old-fashioned way. He preferred to buy loose leaves and boil them, and then make the most of the leaves with his tea infusers. After pouring it into his favorite cup, he would then take a small block of sugar and place it in the saucer first before finally adding it. He sometimes put in cream or milk, but most of the time it’s just sugar.

He usually has his tea in the morning, while he reads his paper. I jokingly tell him that I’ve been waiting to see him burst his tea out as he reads a shocking news report, but it’s his quiet time so chances are it won’t happen. After reading he’d pour more tea, continue to sit down, and just stay quiet, perhaps pondering on what he has to do for the day.
