colloidal silver

January 21st, 2009

A colloid is technically defined as particles which remain suspended without forming an ionic, or dissolved solution. In this case, colloidal silver is a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. The broader commercial definition of “colloidal silver” includes products that contain various concentrations of ionic silver, silver colloids, ionic silver compounds or silver proteins in purified water.

Colloidal silver used to be a popular cure-all solution until it got bumped by antibiotics such penicillin and sulfanilamide. Today, however, people have rediscovered its healing qualities, and while solid medical research is yet to come out, many users are swearing by its medical benefits for their colds, flu, and even diabetes.
