moisturizer
Did you know that:
~1/3 of all personal care products contain one or more ingredients classified as possible human carcinogens
~The average adult uses 9 personal care products daily – exposing them to 126 chemicals every day.
~89% of the 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have not been evaluated for safety.
~Over the last 30 years only 9 of the 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have been banned or restricted.
So, what are we really putting on our skin? Do you bother to read the label of the moisturizer, soap or shampoos that you are using? Do we even know the meaning of the labels that we read? Consumers should take the extra effort to study the list of chemical names found in the tubes and bottles that they use. Some labels deliberately confuse the users; such as labels that list synthetic chemicals followed by the phrase ‘derived from’ a natural substance. Reading the label is one thing; understanding it is another.
