For the past 6,000 years, water filters have been used by man with varying success. Although how water filters worked during ancient times is not very clear, it was evident that kings and rulers ordered them made to remove sediment and cloudiness in drinking water. Those antique water filters must have also helped improved water taste and odor.
Now, people buy a water purifier because they know that these filters remove bacteria, chemicals and other contaminants that may endanger health. There are various types of water purifiers being sold today. These include basic residential water purifiers as well as those used for commercial purposes.
