building muscle mass

July 30th, 2009

Back in 1998 I enrolled in a gym because my best friend asked me to. By year 2000, I was a serious body builder. Prior to entering the gym I was a flabby 180 lbs. By December of 2000, I was a monster of a man at 199 lbs. I could dead lift close to 500 lbs and bench 275 lbs. However, building muscle mass took me a lot of research and hard work.

It took me a while to get a rhythm in my training. At first I was lifting weights to lift the weight. I didn’t care how I lifted it as long as I can lift the weight I was carrying. I slowly studied the anatomy and took a scientific approach to my lifting. I soon became conscious of bodybuilding instead of weightlifting. Lifting heavy weights is not a sure fire tool in building muscle mass. You can build muscle mass by carrying half the weight you are carrying.
